Your body is a wonderland....

Wednesday night Anthony and I went to see John Mayer in concert at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester.

HE WAS AMAZING!!! We had 5th row seats and it was so great. He played classics such as No Such Thing and Bigger. He played his new stuff like Gravity and Waiting on the World to Change and he threw in a killer cover of Don't Need No Doctor and even played your body is a wonderland!!! (A rarity for John). Here are some pics:

MMM Meat

So my man decided to call into work yesterday.... and I was kind of annoyed mainly because he got to sleep in and watch TV all day while I was at work. But, he redeemed himself with the meal below.

you ask why I don't know how to cook? Who needs to when your guy does it!!

It makes the macaroni and cheese I made the night before look pitiful. Oh well.

Anyway - tonight we are going to see John Mayer in Manchester! 5TH ROW SEATS!!! I cannot wait... i'm sure i'll blog about my night as we can bring a camera in!!

oh Pita Pit....

When I was at Syracuse there was this little amazing place called "The Pita Pit" which conveniently was 1 street over from campus in the middle of about 6 bars.

It was also open until at least 3am and they would deliver to your dorm. It was THE ABSOLUTE BEST. Now, since I have graduated 3 years ago - I have been going through severe... SEVERE withdrawl. I miss my plain pita with shredded lettuce, grilled chicken and ranch dressing. I miss the smell, the tatste and the happiness that Pita Pit brought me with every bite.

Well - last night, thanks to the greatest fiance ever, I was reunited with my food love.

No - he did not drive me to Syracuse.... he brought me to a new location - in Boston.

And I was able to savor the amazing flavor of my special chicken, lettuce and ranch:

If all of the other AMAZING things that my fiance does for me wouldn't make me thrilled to spend forever with him......... this trip sealed the deal.

Babe, I love you.

Love is Sweet

Tonight while driving around, Anthony decided he wanted to make a fruit salad.

I have never made a fruit salad before.

yes. I am serious.

So if you don't know Anthony then you do not know that he works at Shaw's Supermarkets... and not only is he a manager but he is the PRODUCE manager. Yes, the ruler of fruit (and veggies, and weird dips). Anyway, he claims while picking out a "perfect" pineapple that he is the best fruit cutter in his department and that he would show me how to make a great fruit salad. So we got home and got to work - I think it turned out pretty nice.

NOTE: he just HAD to buy a new tupperware container for the salad and I warned him it wouldn't be big enough - needless to say it barely fit. I may not know how to cook or make fruit salad - but I totally excel at spacial situations.

Anthony said you grab the pineapple by the top and rip it off... then you slice it!

Next we did the melons - and um... well.... yea

Anyways I think that I took quite the initiative when I volunteered (on my own!) to cut the strawberries... and even though I managed to get the top of one still in the salad (that Anthony pointed out to me while he was watching me like a hawk)... I think that I could quite possibly be the BEST strawberry cutter ever.... alive.

And finally - our salad... and a fun pic to end the post with!

Dinner for my loves...

I am cooking challenged. I can't make anything that isn't frozen first or comes from some sort of mix. However, I can totally do baked chicken (note: it took me a while to finally agree to touch the uncooked chicken breast) with a rice mix and frozen vegetables. I love making poptarts, toaster strudels, frozen pizza... oh, that's not cooking? Crap.

In January my friend and bridesmaid Stefanie came over to watch a movie and we kind of blew up the microwave making popcorn. It really wasn't either of our fault - the microwave just happened to die this day and even though it looks like I can't even make microwave popcorn, it is entirely not my fault - it could have happened to Anthony. It just didn't. I have proof that while I have not mastered cooking, I have mastered fire safety:

I even made sure I showed Stefanie the importance of fire safety:

So needless to say - we don't have a microwave... and we haven't gotten one yet. I figure we've gone this long, why not just wait until we register. See the thing is, I don't really have emotion for food (at least anything that isn't dessert) and so it's not a big loss to me. However, when I realized that 90% of what I cook is made in the microwave, I knew I was in trouble.

That is why - in my first major attempt at becoming more wife-like when it comes to cooking... I made stuffed shells last night!!! Now, Stefanie said I cheated because I didn't make my own sauce, but baby steps please!!

Here are the results:

YAY it was a success!!

First ever post!

OK so I've been noticing that this blog thing is pretty popular and I finally decided to suck it up and start one of my own. I always felt like I wouldn't have too much to write about, but since I'm getting married in a little under a year, I figured the material would be endless. I have to admit, I haven't really written in this type of forum for a long time. I haven't kept a diary for at least a year (which is really strange for me) and I left my livejournal when I graduated from college. But the wedding planning process and the transition from being single to being a wife is pretty big for me. So I guess it's time to present to you my blog:

My life as a soon-to-be wife!!

For those of you that know me, you know I am far from really embracing typical "wife-like" duties. We all know Anthony is amazing at cleaning and cooking but I'm really trying to make an effort to do more of these things. I hope you enjoy the ride.
